Todd Haley was born on the 28^th February 1967, in Atlanta, Georgia USA, the son of Dick Haley, who was a Director of Player Personnel for the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Jets football teams, and his wife Carolyn; his father also played football as a cornerback.

Along with his father, he attended Steelers games, and served as a ball boy which grew into a love for the sport. He went to Upper St. Clair High School, and after matriculation enrolled at the University of Florida and University of Miami, where he played golf. He graduated from the University of North Florida in 1991, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in communication.

Career Beginnings and Rise to Prominence

Todd’s career started in the mid-‘90s when he was hired by the New York Jets as their scouting assistant, serving in that position for a year from 1995 to 1996 and was then named the wide receivers coach. He remained in that position until 2000, when he was recruited by the Chicago Bears in 2001.

Throughout the 2000s Todd changed several clubs and jobs several times, serving as the Dallas Cowboys wide receiver coach from 2004 to 2006, then as offensive coordinator for the Arizona Cardinals, before ultimately becoming the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs. He remained three seasons with the – in his first season, Todd had only four wins with 12 losses finishing 4^th in the AFC West, the second season was an improvement with 10 wins and six losses, finishing 1^st in the AFC West and qualifying for the postseason, however, his team was defeated by the Baltimore Ravens in AFC Wild-Card Game. The next season was disastrous as he was fired after 13 games with a record of five wins and eight lost matches.

In 2012 Todd became the new offensive co-ordinator for the Pittsburgh Steelers which lasted until 2017, during which time the Steelers played in the postseason four times, reaching the AFC Championship game in 2016, which they lost to the New England Patriots. After the 2017 season ended, Todd’s contract expired and he was then recruited by the Cleveland Browns, but was fired just eight games into the season.
