Who is Robin Vernon?

Robin Vernon was born in 1968, in the United States of America, and is an actress as well as a reality television personality, best known for being a part of the show entitled “South Beach Classics”, on which she worked alongside her ex-husband Ted Vernon in his business called Ted Vernon Speciality Automobiles.

The Net Worth of Robin Vernon

How rich is Robin Vernon? As of mid-2019, sources estimate a net worth that is over $2 million, earned largely through a successful career on television. She’s gained a significant amount of wealth thanks to her association with her former husband, who has a net worth estimated to be over $15 million. As she continues her endeavors, it is expected that her wealth will also continue to increase.

Early Life

Very little is known about Robin’s life before her rise to fame through television – she hasn’t shared any details regarding her family and childhood. It is likely that she wanted to pursue a career in acting at a young age, as evidenced from the projects she took on before she became a reality television personality.

She attended Torrejon High School which was a Department of Defense (DOD) school located outside of Madrid, Spain, in the Torrejon Air Force Base. This indicates that Robin may have moved a lot during her youth due to a parent being in the military. The school was originally known as Madrid High School, which was founded in the 1950s but was later opened in a converted barracks in Torrejon Air Base. The school continued its operations into the 1990s until the US presence in the area was phased out, leading to the last matriculation class in 1992.

South Beach Classics

In 2011, alongside her then-husband Ted, Robin decided to team-up for a reality television show entitled “South Beach Classics”. The show focused on the duo along with a crew they call the gargoyles, which buys, sells and trades classic automobiles on the market. The show became a semi-documentary on the growth of their business, as they started the show as a small dealership, but as more seasons progressed, they eventually became a multi-million-dollar enterprise, dealing from cars such as Rolls-Royces to antique Ford models, making them one of the largest classic car stores in Florida.

The show has been running for a total of four seasons, with a fifth season on the way after an hiatus – the show previously aired on the Discovery Network, but it is now set to air on YouTube and a regional network called the Beach Channel. Latter seasons of the show saw Robin slowly disappear from the spotlight, due to divorce proceedings and a troubled relationship, even though they have a family. The fifth season has not indicated her presence, and it will likely be Ted and his crew running Ted Vernon Specialty Automobile Inc. He later announced that he would be co-hosting alongside marketing specialist Christine Morrie.

Ex-Husband Ted Vernon

Ted Vernon – also called the Wolfman – has done a lot of things in his life. Aside from his auto-dealer business, he has delved into acting, production, and amateur boxing. He began with the latter, boxing in his late-20s after he had already achieved some wealth. He managed to reach professional status, and had a few good fights before he was eventually defeated by Kent Baker at the Miami Beach Convention Center. He finished his professional career with a record of 3-1 and then moved on to try acting.

Most of his acting projects are B films done in Florida, and while doing so he also focused on building his business endeavors. He deals in classic cars of all types, dating back to the 1920s up to the early 2000s. The films he’s worked on include “Scarecrows” in which he had a lead role, and the horror film “Angel of Dying”. He also tried his hand at music, and created his own group called Ted Vernon and the Bulldogs, then became the lead singer of the band The Chromatics and The Autotones. He has also appeared in music videos such as “Miami High Boy” and “My Blue Angel” by Aaron Tippin.

Personal Life

For her personal life, it is known that Robin married Ted in 2000, and they stayed together for 16 years. Prior to their marriage he was a divorcee, having three children from his first marriage which had ended in divorce. He is 30 years older than her – the two met on a blind date, and after marrying had a child together, but divorced in 2017.

According to her, she is a victim of domestic abuse, and that Ted is known for being abusive towards his family. He does his best to hide this fact, but all of the family members close to him have experienced his violence in one way or another. In 2017, Robin was hospitalized after she was found physically assaulted having sought refuge at a neighbor’s house. She claimed her former husband attacked her, but he was nowhere to be found. While he denied the allegations, numerous members of his family from his previous marriage have stepped forward to confirm the claims. A daughter of hers decided to run away from home as a teenager, move somewhere far away and change her name to get as far away from him as possible. Despite all of this, Robin has decided not to press charges against him.
