Emily began her career while still in college, working with NewsWatch 16 in the New York school. At the same time, she worked as a WCVB intern in the medical news unit during the summer.

She started her professional career as a video journalist working with Capital News 9 in December 2003, as Saratoga Country Bureau Chief. While there, she had two roles: hosting the station’s main coverage as well as contributing to “Capital Tonight”, their weekly political show. After working with this channel almost two years, Emily left to start working as a reporter with WSYX/WTTE in April 2007. While there, Emily covered ABBC6/FOX28 public and government polic, but in February the following year, she left this channel and started working for WCVB-TV as one of their reporters, and an anchor. In 2010, Emily was named among the four journalists who were invited to interview then President Barack Obama.

After WTTE-TV in Columbus, Emily started working at WCVB in March 2011. She worked there for a little over two years and left in May 2013, however, the organization called her back in June 2015. this time as a co-anchor on NewsCenter 5 Eyeopener, as a replacement for Bianca De La Garza who hosted the show previously.

In her line of work, Emily has covered various topics including election campaigns, legislative initiatives and government policies. Her interviewing prowess has seen her sharing a room with some of the big names in the US – apart from former US president Barack Obama, she also had a one-on-one with Marc Dann, Ohio’s attorney general.

Emily got a chance to report Pope Francis’s portentous visit to the US too, in the same year that she went to Arizona to cover the Patriot’s Super Bowl win.

Emily strives to help the less fortunate. This has seen her associate with several community groups and non-profit organizations such as The American Heart Association and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

When it comes to her personal life, Emily is a married woman – she wed Kyle on 14 April 2011 in an intimate ceremony in Andover, Massachusetts. She wore an elegant white sleeveless gown which she paired with beautiful red heels. Her husband went with a classic grey suit.

The couple has been blessed with three children, all boys, the first in 2012,  their second in 2015, and the youngest on 21 September 2017. Ever since she announced that she was expecting her third child, the media wanted each and every detail of her pregnancy up to the birth of her son.

Although she prefers to keep her family life private, on rare occasions she loves posting photos of them. On 6 March 2013, Emily stated that she could not stop herself from uploading her family members’ photos, as they were celebrating the first birthday of their son.
